CSR- Corporate Social Responsibility
Our vision of CSR in China:
In our opinion CSR should be implemented inside and outside any company.
Within the company, we care for our employees. Thus, we have implemented the likes of labor contracts, labor insurances and additional healthcare and housing since being incorporated in China.
Looking outside the company, we want to channel more resources directly to programs that facilitate some of the social and environmental problems with which China must deal. Our vision is to take small initiatives and guide them in two directions ¨C via government to companies and vice versa.
We understand how these initiatives must be treated as Ciparo bv has always set an example in supporting and following the requirements of the Chinese government. For example, we not only put into action the Labour law, but also obtained, successfully, the AQSIQ license and ISO certificates for quality and environmental management. In addition, new projects and ideas are constantly generated and fulfilled by the company itself, reaching out to the more indigent people in China. We believe this to be the way to reach the main objective of Ciparo - contributing to a better healthier society, a cleaner environment, helping people no matter what country they belong to.
CSR activities in China:
From the very day it was founded Ciparo has been active in a number of community related events, contributing to development projects for both the physically challenged and poverty stricken in China.
In 2001 Ciparo sponsored and participated in a cycling event that raised money for a solar-heated primary boarding school in Eastern Tibet. Through this effort, not only has an entirely new school been erected but a dormitory that can house 400 children has additionally been built. The children living hours away from their parents, the dormitory has proved a great benefit, especially during the cold winter when the snow makes it near impossibly to travel. This happened long before the Chinese government abolished rural admission fees for schools.
Another initiative involved donating Braille paper and raising funds for the organization ¡°Braille without Borders¡±.
The most recent project of Ciparo concerned the building of a new kitchen for children of the Cheng Meng orphanage. With the combined efforts of several dedicated companies the children can now eat their meals, spending free time in a warm spacious well-lit building that has not only a well-equipped kitchen, but also a large dining room with a television and two living rooms.
